Chemo Caps

Here are the chemo caps I made and sent to a very dear friend. She had sent me a picture of a couple and ask if I might be able to make her a couple. So this is what I made for her.

Learned But Disappointed

I had some time to play with me knitting machine. I am somewhat disappointed. I guess I need to work with it more to get it to work better? I learned the "e cast on". But it does not work very well. It is VERY hard to knit the first row with this cast on because it is to tight. I tried casting on loose, but it did not matter. It was always to tight. It just would not knit the first row. So I had to rip it out every time. If I just knit with out using the e cast on, I have to go back before I get done and use the knit needle to bind off the first knitted row one stitch at a time. For now , as I am disappointed with it, I have put it aside for now.
I will start a beading project tonight instead. Love my beading!
A little sad here about knitting.....:(
(But I do love hand knitting still)

End Of Day

End of my day here. Sewing room is cleaned up, have my knitting machine ready to set up. Hope that I will be knitting on it tomorrow evening after all is done here.
Got the last things mailed out today, last of the swaps I am in. Also got the chemo caps mailed that I made for a friend.
Now I can get down to doing the things I want to do for me. lol
Have to get going, 5:30 comes early tomorrow morning.

About Time

I guess it's about time I get back on here and start writing again. Lots been going on like life....but now back to my blog.
I now have a knitting machine. Have not had time to make anything on it yet. This weekend for sure. I would love to knit some sock blanks and dye them. Have never done that before. Just one more new thing to learn.
I just finished a lap quilt and sent it to a friend. She loves it. Was glad to do a little something for her.
Would love to hear from other knitters who use a knitting machine.
Have to go for now, need to get into my sewing/craft room and do a little clean up there.

Gator Quilt

Here is the "Gator" quilt that I made for a friend's new baby boy. They are big Gator fans.

It is a quick quilt as I made it in a weekend. I only had a little of the Gator fabric in my sewing room, and when I went to buy some more, they were all out, so I had to make it whit what I had on hand. They liked it, so I guess it is OK. I really wanted to do a different pattern, but.......... like I said, I had to use what I had on hand. I had fun making it.

Good Day Here

Well, having a good Saturday at home with my Hubby. Got the new "around shelves" added in my sewing room. Almost got everything all sorted out and put up.
Soon will be time to get busy sewing on a new quilt.
Then I want to get some bead work done.
I have to start thing about what I want to make everyone for Christmas this year. (It's never to early for me to think about making things for Christmas!)
Now off to do a little more in my sewing room.

What I been Up To

Boy, it's been a while, I need to get back to this blog. Just one more thing!?
This evening I am moving out most of the things in my sewing / craft room. Tomorrow morning, someone is coming in to put a shelf around the whole room about 14 inches from the ceiling. Boy do I need that.
Then, when I get in from work, I get to go through everything, sort it, and put it all where it belongs.
I just wonder what I am going to fine that I don't remember having? LOL
Anyway, it's going to be nice to have things where I can see them and get to them easier.
Now, to work moving things in here.
